I'm surprisingly calm about all this, not really normal for me but I'm going with it. I will be glad to get out of the sling and start rehabbing it though, and still look forward to our next trip. We can imagine the emotional frustration you must be suffering - I broke my thumb in a bike accident in January and was a basket-case about it for a few months. And Jim broke his leg on a backpacking trip a couple years ago and it took him a while to rebuild his confidence that he would be able to hike without worry again. Based on our experiences, it might take some time for you, but you'll get your physical strength and confidence back.
